He told me this backstage after a CSO concert once. How refreshing it was to meet someone who wasn’t afraid to show open affection for his music.

I’d been waiting to conduct this piece my whole life, and I’m so happy that I was able to perform it with Edward Auer my first time. What an amazing musician and an even better person. Bravo, Edward!
